Mary
Pickford

Mary Pickford was not only one of the most famous and well-paid actresses of her time, but also an accomplished producer, studio owner and long-time member of the board of United Artists. She also founded what is now the Motion Picture Television Fund and was one of the three women among the 36 founders of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.

With her determination and perseverance, Pickford inspired women on screen and off, and remains an important reminder of what one can accomplish. Mary knew the frustration and isolation of being the only woman in the room, and nothing would please her more than being part of a movement to increase female involvement at every level of filmmaking.

Our mission

Widen the funnel for underrepresented crew behind the camera and beyond

The Percentages of people who identify as women represent a fraction of crew members hired on major motion pictures. These percentages have not increased. We want to change these statistics and raise the percentages of people who identify as women. Let's work together to reach 50/50 equal representation above and below the line.
